Darrin Wagner, the 1987 Times’ All-San Diego County running back from Lincoln High School, said he will transfer from San Diego State to Nebraska.
Wagner said he will leave Thursday for Lincoln, Neb., and enroll for the spring semester beginning Jan. 16.
Wagner, a 6-foot 190-pounder, did not play in a game for the Aztecs as a freshman. Under NCAA rules, he must sit out the 1989 season and will have three seasons of football eligibility remaining.
