Steve Scott won the mile in 4:05.7 in the Spectator Games indoor track meet, the year’s opening Grand Prix event, at Hamilton, Canada.

Larry Myricks long jumped 26 feet 8 1/4 inches, Nick Saunders of Bermuda cleared 7-8 1/2 in the high jump, Billy Olson won the pole vault at 18-4 1/2 and Olympic gold medalist Roger Kingdom ran away with the 50-meter hurdles in 6.47 seconds.
