Problems With Taxis

Nancy Hoyt Belcher in “Those New York City Taxis Can Drive You Crazy” (Dec. 18) writes of her problems, but doesn’t mention the cause, which is monopoly. New York City licenses cost more than $100,000 and no new ones have been issued for almost 50 years.
