Boy, 10, Dies After Bike is Hit by Truck

A 10-year-old Poway boy was struck and killed by a pickup truck while riding his bicycle, authorities reported.
Richard Wood was bicycling in the 12400 block of McFeron Road about 3 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by Scott Ball, 29, of Poway, according to Sheriff’s Sgt. Ron Cunningham.
The boy was flown by Life Flight helicopter to Children’s Hospital, where he later died from injuries, Cunningham said.
No charges are planned against Ball, but an investigation is continuing, Cunningham said.
