Local News in Brief : Irvine : Several Agencies Plan Workshop on Foul Air

A workshop on the county’s smog problems and measures proposed to correct them is scheduled for Jan. 31 by the Coalition for Clean Air, the American Lung Assn. and the Orange County League of Women Voters.
The county management plan proposed by the South Coast Air Quality Management District will be discussed by Barbara Sullivan, representing the Southern California Assn. of Governments; Pat Nemeth, representing the district, and Mark Abramowitz, representing the Coalition for Clean Air.
The plan proposes steps during the next 20 years to correct air pollution in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
The workshop is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. in the multipurpose room at University Community Park near University Drive and Beech Tree Lane.
