Local News in Brief : Veteran Councilman Recovering

Veteran Redondo Beach Councilman Archie Snow is undergoing treatment for heart ailments at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance.

City officials said Snow was admitted Jan. 4 after suffering a mild heart attack. An angioplasty was performed to clear a partly blocked artery, they said, and further tests were ordered Jan. 11 when the 70-year-old councilman began to experience disturbances in his heart rhythm.

Snow, who is a mayoral candidate in the March 7 elections, was described in a press release Tuesday as “fully alert and conversational (and) anxious to get back to work.” He has missed the last two City Council meetings as a result of his illness.
