Girls’ Roundup : Jalewalia Again Leads La Quinta

Amy Jalewalia scored 39 points to lead La Quinta High School to a 64-14 victory over Garden Grove in a Garden Grove League girls’ basketball game at La Quinta.

Jalewalia also had 11 steals. Heather Brannan had 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the Aztecs (13-3, 6-0).

In other Garden Grove League games:

Santiago 46, Los Amigos 31--Robin Caires had 16 points and 7 assists and Becky Elcock had 15 points and 11 rebounds for host Santiago (6-7, 3-3). Angela Fishbeck scored 15 points for Los Amigos.

In the Empire League:

Kennedy 51, Pacifica 21--Michelle Harris scored 18 points and Lara Cummins added 11 points and and 15 rebounds for Kennedy (6-6, 5-1) at home.

In Angelus League girls’ soccer:

Mater Dei 7, St. Paul 0--Tina Manfre and Saule Sadunas scored 2 goals each to lead Mater Dei (14-4-2, 5-1-1).
