Unknown songwriters, meanwhile, will share more than $100,000 in cash and other prizes in the second annual Billboard Song Contest. The competition is open to anyone who earns less than $5,000 per year from songwriting. The categories are country, jazz, gospel, Latin, pop, rhythm & blues and rock. Billboard Magazine sponsors the contest.
