The Colleges : Roundup : Titan Women Fall, 55-49, to Las Vegas

Pauline Jordan scored 10 points and had 14 rebounds to lead Nevada Las Vegas to a 55-49 victory over Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game Thursday at Las Vegas.
Las Vegas (15-1 overall and 6-1 in conference play) is ranked 19th in the nation.
Gena Miller scored 26 and had 7 rebounds to lead Cal State Fullerton (12-3, 4-2). No other Fullerton player scored more than 7 points.
Fullerton trailed, 32-30, at halftime and was outscored, 23-19, in the second half.
DeNise Ballenger and Linda Staley scored 9 points each for Las Vegas.
In another Big West Conference women’s game:
UC Santa Barbara 52, UC Irvine 42--Barbara Beainy scored 17 points to lead visiting UC Santa Barbara. Natsha Parks scored 16 points and Felicia Dixon 10 for UC Irvine (4-11, 0-6).
In California Collegiate Athletic Assn. women’s basketball:
Cal Poly Pomona 77, Chapman 62--Niki Bracken scored 29 points and Cathy Gooden 21 as the Broncos, ranked No. 1 in the National Collegiate Athletic Assn. Division II, won at Chapman. Cal Poly Pomona (14-4 overall, 2-0 in the conference) led, 43-25, at the half.
Corine Sandfry scored 14 points and Julie King 13 for Chapman (6-9, 1-1).
In nonconference wrestling:
Cal State Fullerton 24, Kent State 8--Fullerton (8-5) won 7 of 10 matches at Kent State for its fifth consecutive dual-meet victory.
Erin Millsap defeated Jack DeBoe, 8-5, at 118, Charlie Larson defeated Larry Utt, 5-3, at 126, Shawn Dreitzler defeated Jim Juskiew, 9-7, at 134, Cody Bryant defeated Steve Hoser, 17-6, at 142, Martin Armendarez defeated Marty Collins, 8-6, at 158, Ramon Diaz defeated Doug Delrosa, 6-3, at 177, Jose Flores defeated Dave Moore, 9-3, at 190, for the Titan victories.
