But University went on a 12-2 run, including a technical foul on Newport Harbor Coach David Barela.
“We rebounded a lot better in the second half,” University Coach Doug Sorey said.
Davis, who scored 5 of her 18 points on free throws, grabbed 12 rebounds. Stacey Giem led Newport Harbor with 17 points before fouling out.
“We went to the trap and that stopped Giem from getting off her shot,” Sorey said.
