Local News in Brief : Pedestrian Hit, Killed on Sierra Highway

A 24-year-old pedestrian was killed Friday night when he was hit by a truck while crossing the Sierra Highway in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Salvador Morales was struck at 9:20 p.m. by a truck driven by Kevin Fields, 31, said Sgt. Frank Kasko of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Morales was pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m. Saturday at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. Fields was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, Kasko said.
