Union Pacific Corp.’s earnings rose 10% to $644 million in 1988. Operating revenue rose 13% to $6.068 billion. The Bethlehem, Pa.-based holding company, whose businesses include railroad, real estate, oil and gas, and mining operations, said it achieved strong performances in all its businesses. The company noted that Union Pacific Railroad posted record earnings and that Union Pacific Resources completed a major restructuring in 1988.
