Mark McMahon, football coach at Orange High School the past 3 seasons, has resigned his post to become the offensive coordinator at El Modena.
McMahon, who had a 13-19 record at Orange, said he was frustrated that assistant coaches did not remain with the Orange program.
“I ended up with just 2 assistants at the end of the season,” McMahon said. “It wasn’t fair to the kids.”
He said he applied for a transfer and was assigned by the Orange Unified School District to El Modena, where he will begin teaching in the English as a Second Language program on Monday.
Before coming to Orange, McMahon, 39, was the offensive coordinator at Villa Park for 5 seasons.
