A three-alarm fire broke out in a snack bar storeroom in the international arrivals building at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, injuring 36 people and forcing 600 to evacuate, authorities said. The injured included civilians, Port Authority police officers and firefighters and at least two were believed to be in serious condition, said Capt. Mark Rothstein of Emergency Medical Services. The cause of the three-alarm blaze was not immediately known. Some Air France, El Al, Air Afrique and Royal Air Maroc flights were delayed because of the fire.
