OAKLAND — The City of Oakland reached an out-of-court agreement with the Los Angeles Raiders for four years to pay $3 million of the football team’s legal costs of defending its move to Southern California.
Lawyers for both sides agreed to the four-year payment period Wednesday before a hearing that had been scheduled in Monterey County Superior Court. Oakland was seeking a 10-year installment plan to pay the fees after losing its eight-year legal fight to keep the National Football League team from moving to Los Angeles.
