Tiger International Inc.’s 1988 profit jumped 55% to $89.5 million on an increase in revenue of 10% to $1.36 billion. The Los Angeles company, parent of cargo carrier Flying Tiger Line Inc., credited results to its global marketing strategy and lower fuel costs, which were partially offset by higher commissions on eastbound Asia traffic, higher maintenance expense and a fourth-quarter charge associated with yen refinancing.
