Local News in Brief : New Finance Director Named

William Yeomans has been named finance director in Palos Verdes Estates.

Yeomans, who began working as finance director for the city Jan. 9 at an annual salary of $50,000, served for three years as finance director of Rolling Hills Estates. He lives in Pasadena.

Yeomans this week called the city a “terrific community with a lot of economic strength.” He said he would like to see a long-term financial base developed so the city does not have to rely on voter approval of its its special property tax every four years. The tax helps pay for police, fire and paramedic services.
