Local News in Brief : Contest for Japan Visits

Carson’s Sister City program with Soka, Japan, will include two-week visits in August for 10 Carson students to be picked in a competitive selection.
Carson residents between the ages of 16 and 23 who are full-time students may apply at City Hall. The 10 who are selected will live with Japanese families Aug. 16 to 31.
Costs include half the air fare and all personal expenses. Additional information is available through the city’s public information office.
The deadline for applying is 5 p.m. March 1.
