CBS’ “60 Minutes” has won the prestigious Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Gold Baton Award for two decades of reporting that “changed the nature of television news.” Network winners of Silver Batons included CBS News for coverage of the Persian Gulf by Allen Pizzey, NBC News for “A Conversation With Mikhail Gorbachev” and ABC News for “Night-line: In the Holy Land.” Public Affairs Television and Alvin H. Perlmutter Inc. received an award for “Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth, With Bill Moyers.” Nina Totenberg and National Public Radio were honored for coverage of the Supreme Court nominations.
