Local News in Brief : Irvine : Air Pollution Cleanup Is Subject of Workshop
- Share via
A workshop on air pollution and the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s latest plan for meeting clean air standards is scheduled for 8 p.m. Tuesday at University Community Park in Irvine.
The workshop, sponsored by the Coalition for Clean Air, the American Lung Assn. and the Orange County League of Women Voters, will include question sessions with Barbara Sullivan of the Southern California Assn. of Governments, Pat Nemeth of the AQMD, and Mark Abramowitz of the Coalition for Clean Air.
The Coalition strongly advocates adoption of the AQMD plan, which would require major increases in car-pooling, use of flexible work schedules, and working at home on personal computers. The plan also calls for shifts in some jobs from Orange to Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
