Procrastinators Capture Gus Macker Tournament Title

SAN DIEGO — The Procrastinators--Johnny Griffin, Paul JungKeit, Jeff Martineau and Scott Havrisek--beat Dunk Pro I, 20-17, to win the top men’s division of the first San Diego Gus Macker basketball tournament at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium Sunday.

The Procrastinators all played college basketball at Biola College in La Mirada.

The top women’s division was won by San Diego Elite, which defeated The Home Girls, 21-13. Former San Diego State guard Dee Dee Duncan, Liz Chicane, Elaine Nelson and Toni Hughes play for San Diego Elite.

More than 300 teams were entered in the two-day 3-on-3 tournament, which originated in Michigan in 1974.
