The family of brain-damaged singer-composer Barry Sadler has agreed to let a Nashville, Tenn., judge name an independent guardian for him, Cuyahoga County Probate Judge John J. Donnelly said in Cleveland. Sadler’s mother, Bebe, and son, Thor, had each asked to be named guardian for Sadler, who is hospitalized in a Cleveland suburb. Sadler, best known for his “Ballad of the Green Berets,” suffered brain damage when he was shot last fall.
