Maxicare Health Plans Inc. announced that it has signed a “standstill” agreement with its lending banks through April 30. Under this agreement, no additional principal or interest payments will be made to the banks during the standstill period. Further, the banks have agreed not to pursue their remedies in connection with certain existing defaults under the credit agreement, including Los Angeles-based Maxicare’s non-payment of $36.3 million in principal due Dec. 31.
