Controversy Over Gun Control Laws
“California is under siege by drug dealers and sociopaths,” says Roos.
This is the only truth that Roos stumbled into with his simplistic, knee-jerk, anti-gun twaddle.
Operating under the guise of restricting access to AK-47 and Uzi “assault weapons,” Roos, Rep. Howard Berman (D-Panorama City), state Sen. David Roberti (D-Los Angeles), etc. are, in fact, reaching for a ban on all semiautomatic firearms.
Roos states that “machine guns, sawed-off shotguns, zip guns, brass knuckles, black jacks . . . are outlawed.” May I point out that these outlawed weapons are in daily use by criminals despite the total ban on these weapons!
He goes on to state that “ . . . semiautomatic rifles and pistols” should be “severely restricted.” This goes far beyond “assault weapons.” This includes many classic, wood-stock hunting rifles, many water fowl and skeet shotguns, all pistols, and could easily include all double-action revolvers.
When legislators are through “assaulting” the Constitution, the law-abiding citizen will be locked in his or her home, clutching a weapon designed in the Civil War. The drug dealers and sociopaths, armed with AK-47s or whatever firearms they damn well feel like using, will be on the outside, smiling, and looking in!
