Local News in Brief : Fire Causes $255,000 Damage at Cleaners

Afire that spread through a dry-cleaning business in San Fernando caused $255,000 damage, the Los Angeles Fire Department said Tuesday.
The fire was reported at 9:50 p.m. Monday at Day and Night Cleaners in the 1200 block of Mott Street, officials said. Los Angeles firefighters, who provide service to the small city, put the fire out in 20 minutes, officials said.
The cause of the blaze in the one-story building was under investigation Tuesday. The business was closed at the time of the fire.
Fire Department officials said the contents of the shop, worth an estimated $200,000, were destroyed. Structural damage was estimated at $55,000.
