Trash-Hauling Contract Awarded : Local News in Brief

The Rancho Palos Verdes City Council has awarded a five-year contract to Ivy Rubbish Disposal to collect trash in the Portuguese Bend neighborhood. The contract also calls for curb-side recycling.
Ivy, which had been contracting individually with area homeowners to haul trash, will distribute bins for recyclable newspapers, bottles and aluminum cans. The firm will begin collecting these items April 1.
