Bank Will Aid Mergers: Security Pacific Corp. said it will provide merger and acquisition services in the United States through a joint venture it is forming with Burns Fry Ltd., a Toronto investment bank, The Los Angeles-based banking company said its involvement will be through Security Pacific Merchant Bank, which handles international corporate and institutional activities for Security Pacific National Bank. The venture will be called Security Pacific Burns Fry. The bank said it will focus on providing advice to medium-sized corporations in California and New York. Security Pacific acquired a 30% interest in Burns Fry last year.
