Congress Assails Iran for Threat

WASHINGTON — More than 80 lawmakers introduced a resolution in Congress on Thursday condemning a death threat by Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini against novelist Salman Rushdie.
The joint resolution was the first formal action in Congress in response to the Iranian death decree.
The bill was introduced by California Rep. George Miller (D-Martinez).
