Tile Institute Honors Five

Erich Paarsch, Joe Taylor, Jackie Hagar, Gerry Steed and Jinny Lowe, members of the ceramic tile industry, were honored at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel by the Ceramic Tile Institute.

Paarsch, vice president of the bricklayers union, received the Golden Tile Award. Taylor, president of the Tile Heritage Foundation, was named Tile Professional of the Year by the Western States Ceramic Tile Assn.

Co-winners of the Fleishman Special Recognition Award were: Hagar of Hagar Tile, Culver City, and the first woman elected president of the Associated Tile Contractors, and Steed, Buena Tile Supply, Ventura, active with eight different tile industry committees. Lowe, district manager for Crossville Ceramics, was named Tile Woman of the Year.
