San Diego homicide detectives say they are preparing another charge against a man held in connection with the slaying of a 28-year-old man who died Tuesday of a wound he suffered last month.
Siegfried (Ziggy) Horcajo, 33, who was arrested Feb. 10 and formally charged with the attempted murder of Jimmie Rodriquez, will face an amended charge of murder, police said.
Rodriquez was dumped at Hillside Hospital on Jan. 30 with a gunshot wound to his neck, police said, adding that he was shot in an alley east of the 4000 block of Florida Street.
He was transferred to the intensive-care unit at Mercy Hospital, where he died.
Police have found no motive in the slaying.
Horcajo is being held in the County Jail in El Cajon in lieu of $200,000 bail, authorities said.
