49er Women Beat UC Irvine

Seventh-ranked Cal State Long Beach scored the first 12 points of the second half and pulled away from UC Irvine for a 97-68 Big West Conference women’s basketball victory Thursday night at Irvine.
Penny Toler scored 21 points for Long Beach. Cheryl Dowell added 18 points and 10 rebounds and Tracy Waites had 17 points.
Natasha Parks had 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Anteaters.
Long Beach is 24-4 overall, 17-0 in the Big West. UC Irvine is 8-18 and 4-13.
