COLLEGES : College Roundup : Titan Gymnasts Get Record-Setting Victory

The Cal State Fullerton women’s gymnastics team set a school meet record for total score in a 192.25-186.45 victory over Auburn Friday in a nonconference meet at Fullerton.
Gina Satterly and Stacey Harris of Fullerton tied for the overall title with a school-record 38.65. Satterly won the balance beam with a 9.75, and Harris won the uneven bars with a 9.75. Margot Gumerlock of Fullerton won the vault with a 9.70, and teammate Lisa Dolan won the floor exercise with a 9.70.
In nonconference baseball:
Cal State Fullerton 19, Portland 5--Fullerton (10-4) scored eight runs in the sixth to take a 15-4 lead at home. Huck Flenner (3-0) went six innings for the victory. Rex Peters had two doubles to stretch his hitting streak to 14 games.
California 22, UC Irvine 5--UC Irvine starter Ken Whitworth, who had a line drive go off his pitching hand, had to leave the game in the first inning at Irvine.
In the National Christian College Division II men’s national basketball championships:
Pacific Coast Christian 110, Bayridge 95--Steve Welch scored 24 points and Steve Heard had 18 for Pacific Coast Christian (32-9).
In the National Christian College Athletic Assn. Division II women’s basketball tournament:
Northwest Assemblies of God 64, Pacific Coast Christian 56--Aiyanna Marcus scored 25 points for Northwest in a semifinal game. Donna Allen scored 22 points for Pacific Coast Christian (19-12).
In nonconference softball:
Southern California 10-11, Pomona Pitzer 0-2--Lauren Kelly had two hits and scored two runs in the first game for host SCC. Christy George had three hits, two RBIs and scored a run in the second game for SCC (6-6).
