Regarding the Feb. 19 letter, “S&L; Crisis Is Regional”:
We probably shouldn’t be too hard on Texas and its savings and loans. A good deal of their problems stem from lower oil prices from which we are all benefiting. It’s pretty tough for the real estate market to forecast oil prices.
