ARCO Refinery Foundation has donated $10,000 to Friends of Banning Park, the privately funded support group of Banning Residence museum, 401 East M. St., Wilmington.
The donation is designated for production of a film relation the story or Phineas Banning’s influence in the development of transportation in Southern California during the latter half of the 19th Century.
The film will describe his leadership in the construction of the San Pedro breakwater and harbor, and in the development of rail, stagecoach and freight routes.
The film will be shown as part of the guided tour of the Stagecoach Barn, located behind the Banning Residence Museum. It is undergoing restoration and is to be completed in April.
