Work to Start May 1 on Palm Desert Homes

A May 1 ground-breaking date has been set for Fox Canyon, a 100-acre hillside development that will eventually include 58 luxury homes in Palm Desert.
Lot sizes will range from about 11,000 square feet to 8.3 acres, and range in price from $440,000 to $2 million. It is the only hillside development ever approved in Palm Desert, according to G. George Fox, owner and developer of Fox Canyon.
Fox said he hopes the complex will become a “celebrity enclave, the Bel-Air of the desert.” He said the project will appeal to wealthy entertainers, industrialists, financiers and rich Europeans who are seeking strict privacy and desert-view homes.
First lots in the gate-guarded complex are expected to be graded and ready for construction by this summer.
