Commercial Scene : National City Company Buys Irvine Builder

Purchase of the major assets of Sandling Development, an 11-year-old home-building firm in Irvine, has been announced by McMillin Communities, the purchasing firm, with headquarters in National City.
The acquisition includes Sandling’s interest in two new-home developments in Riverside County with a combined total of 445 lots. McMillin said purchase consideration was $1.6 million, plus assumption of debt.
Joe Shielly, executive vice president of McMillin Communities, will direct McMillin’s newly acquired Irvine office, the former Sandling headquarters at 1641 Langley Ave.
