Local News in Brief : Speeding Motorcyclist, 24, Dies After Crash

A24-year-old motorcycle rider was killed when he lost control at high speed and crashed on a curving road through the Santa Monica Mountains National Park, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The Garden Grove resident “was driving too fast, couldn’t control it and lost it” just before noon Sunday, Officer Mark Whitchard said.
The man was taken by ambulance to Westlake Community Hospital in Westlake Village, where he died of head injuries at 12:48 p.m. His identity had not been released.
Whitchard said the motorcyclist was westbound on Mulholland Highway east of Kanan Road when he hit a guardrail and was thrown from the bike.
