State Budget

California has now come full circle since the days of former Gov. Jerry Brown. Gov. George Deukmejian took us from IOU to A-OK and back to IOU. The Duke talks a good game but he sure doesn’t deliver the goods!
Attempting to fool Californians with creative accounting is not the answer. It is time for the governor and the Legislature to agree on a single standard accounting method. Sound, consistent financial reporting practices must be implemented in order to restore the state’s credibility that Deukmejian has damaged. If this happens, the governor might save California and his own face.
