Gaillard Named Coach at Lewis & Clark

PORTLAND, Ore. — Bob Gaillard has been named head basketball coach at Lewis & Clark College, school officials announced Monday.

Gaillard, who has not coached since leaving the University of San Francisco 11 years ago, said he has no misgivings about returning to basketball at a far less visible level.

“I don’t look on it as moving down,” Gaillard said. “I look on it just as moving in a different direction. There is a lot of pain and agony at the Division I level, but I have no regrets.”
