BIG WEST BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT : Irvine Women Win Big West Playoff

The UC Irvine women’s basketball team, sparked by a 16-0 run late in the game, took a 60-49 victory over University of the Pacific in a Big West Conference playoff game Tuesday at Long Beach.
Irvine (9-19) will play Cal State Long Beach today at 3:30 p.m. at the Long Beach Sports Arena. Pacific led, 44-41, with 7 minutes 39 seconds left when Irvine went on the 16-0 run.
Kathy Lizarraga scored 20 points and was six of 12 from three-point range to lead Irvine. Jenny Lee had 11 points and Shurrell Johnson had 10 points for Irvine. Natasha Parks had a team-high 15 rebounds.
