Phil Mahre won the giant slalom in the $40,000 WinterFest at Snow Summit and closed in on leader Jorgen Sundqvist of Sweden in the U.S. Pro Tour season standings.
Mahre, getting 35 points for the victory, has a total of 450, Sundqvist 470.
With a victory in today’s slalom, Mahre could take the lead.
