Cal Lutheran 3, Cal State Dominguez Hills 2--Catcher Anthony Espitia was three for four and drove in two runs to lead the Kingsmen to an upset of the Division II Toros at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Espitia drove home runs in the fourth and sixth innings as Cal Lutheran (12-6) took a 2-1 lead. Mark Borzello drove in the winning run on a suicide squeeze in the seventh.
Canyons 21, Oxnard 9--Four Canyons players hit home runs to lead the Cougars to a Western State Conference win.
Adam Grant and Chris Joy each hit two home runs and Don Pederson and Gary Morgan each hit one for Canyons (10-9, 4-2). Grant was four for five with four runs batted in and Joy was three for five with six RBIs.
Moorpark 11, Santa Monica 6--The Raiders scored seven times in the second inning to blow open a WSC game at Santa Monica.
Steve Sisco had three hits and two RBIs and Loyd Wood, Dan Smith and Darren Aurand each added two RBIs for Moorpark (14-7, 4-3). Willie Leighton scattered seven hits to improve his record to 5-0.
L.A. City 10, Mission 9--In a game cut short because of darkness, Mission left the bases loaded in the top of the eighth of a Southern California Athletic Conference game at L. A. City.
