Saugus’ Lewis Pitches Perfect Game in Softball

Cathy Lewis pitched a perfect game and struck out 17 of the 21 batters she faced as Saugus High beat Capistrano Valley, 1-0, Friday to take sixth place in the Laguna Hills softball tournament. Lewis improved her record to 6-3.
Saugus scored the only run of the game in the fourth inning. Michelle Knaggs singled, moved to second on a fielder’s choice and scored on Brandy Rico’s single. Rico had two of Saugus’ three hits.
