Heavy Rain Soaks Parts of Northern California

SAN FRANCISCO — More than five inches of rain fell in western Sonoma County in 24 hours and 3 1/2 inches of rain fell on parts of Marin County by Saturday evening as one of the wettest storms of the season continued to drench much of Northern California.
Minor flooding was reported in San Francisco and Marin County, and several highways were temporarily closed by mudslides and flooding conditions, authorities said.
