Brown Pitches Aztecs Past Wisconsin, 7-0

Ron Brown struck out 12 and allowed five hits as San Diego State shut out visiting Wisconsin, 7-0, Sunday in a nonleague baseball game at Smith Field.
Jeff Barry hit a solo home run and went three for four with two runs scored. Brian Lutes went two for four with two RBIs for the Aztecs (13-10). Wisconsin is 3-7. The teams play again tonight at 7.
MEN’S TENNIS
The University of San Diego won its team tennis tournament for the third consecutive year with an 8-1 victory over Yale in the championship match. USD’s Dan Mattera, who was undefeated at No. 4 singles and in doubles, was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
Dave Stewart defeated Craig Kennedy, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 1 singles to lead USD (16-3). Princeton defeated Dartmouth, 7-2, in the third-place match of the eight-team tournament.
