Zambian Airways Defends Its Sale of South African Beer

LUSAKA, Zambia — The Zambian government, normally in the forefront of a campaign for an economic blockade of South Africa, is defending its airline for selling South African beer on its flights.
“Logistical problems” forced Zambia Airways to buy beer from South Africa, said Nephas Tembo, minister of state for transport.
In the past, the airline bought beer from the Netherlands, but deliveries frequently were delayed, he said.
