Aztecs to Play Tripleheader Against Utah

Rain forced the cancellation of the San Diego State-Utah Western Athletic Conference baseball doubleheader Saturday at SDSU, so the teams will play a tripleheader today at SDSU beginning at 10:30 a.m.
SDSU defeated Utah, 3-2, Friday in the WAC opener for both. SDSU is 16-10, Utah 5-14.
MEN’S TENNIS
Joe McDonough defeated Ian Schroeder at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-4, and San Diego State went on to defeat the University of Washington, 6-1, in a UC Irvine tournament match.
Tole Marinkovic and Jeff Belloli defeated Rob Grundy and Eric Freeman, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles for SDSU (7-12). Washington is 7-4.
BASKETBALL
The Chargers will play San Diego City College’s Wheelchair Knights in a celebrity wheelchair basketball game Saturday at 1 p.m. in the San Diego High School gymnasium.
Admission is $6 and tax deductible. Tickets may be purchased at the door or by calling 298-5824. Proceeds will be used to purchase a 1989 Chevrolet van, equipped with a wheelchair lift, that will be presented to the San Diego School District to transport physically handicapped children.
RUNNING
The Naval Amphibious Base Fleet Feet Running Club is sponsoring a five-kilometer run/walk April 9 to benefit the Navy Relief Society. The race will begin in Coronado and continue over the Bay Bridge into San Diego. Race-day registration is outside Gate 1 of the Naval Amphibious Base from 5:30-6:45 a.m. Registration will also be held on April 8 at the Broadway Pier from 1-4 p.m. Call 437-2026 for information.
