Venice : Mural Restoration Grants
The Social and Public Art Resource Center will award grants of up to $500 for artists interested in restoring their deteriorating public murals in Los Angeles.
Artists are asked to submit a letter of intent with a description of the mural and a photograph or slide of the original mural and its current condition. Artists should also specify when they expect to complete the restoration. Applications must be postmarked by April 15. Grants will be awarded May 1.
The program is being conducted under a contract with the Cultural Affairs Department of the city of Los Angeles with matching funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The center is a nonprofit, multiethnic and community-based arts organization that promotes opportunities for artists to produce, preserve and document all aspects of mural painting.
