Local news in Brief : Honorary Legislators Will Represent Elderly

The Orange County Community Services Agency has announced the names of seven recently elected honorary Senior Legislators who will represent the interests of the county’s elderly population.
More than 20 candidates ran for the seats, with the election conducted by the Area Agency on Aging and the Senior Citizens Advisory Council.
Elected as Senior Senators were Neel Buell of Costa Mesa and Will Armstrong of Buena Park.
Lobbying the Assembly will be Marcella Surowic of Santa Ana, George Brown of Seal Beach, John Kumbera of Brea, Muriel Nelson of Anaheim and Helen Mills of Laguna Hills.
The representatives will visit area legislators in Sacramento in October and lobby causes important to the county’s aged population.
