Cherokee Reports Income Rises 66% in 3rd Quarter

Cherokee Group, a Sunland apparel company, reported that its net income rose 66% to $4.7 million for the third quarter that ended Feb. 25 compared to $2.9 million a year earlier. Revenue was up to $48.6 million compared to $42.7 million.
For the nine months that ended Feb. 25, Cherokee earned $5.6 million on revenue of $119.7 million. In the same period a year earlier, the company earned $8.1 million on revenue of $111.6 million.
Cherokee is being acquired by a group that includes some of its executives.
